In my own personal experience, I can relate to being Kat, the sister and having a dog like Ted in this book. One year when I was six years old I went to Europe to visit my dad and I brought my dog Barbie Viva, a corgie. We were at a horse show and I lost my dad in a sea of crowds by the stables. As soon as the crowd cleared their was no sign of him. I started to freak out and panic, but then I realized I had Barbie, who has a special talent to find people (like Ted). We went all around the property finding clues that led to where my dad was. We stoped at the concession stand and Barbie smelt his smell and it was leading to the horse show office. We raced there to find out that he had steped in some water and his shoe print was going toward the stable. When we got to the stable, where we had last seen him, sure enough there he was sitting right outside talking to the vet. I would relate this to Ted and Kat because we both were looking for someone we had lost and we had to trust each other to find the person.
